20mins From Scratch

the "20 minutes from scratch" songs are completely composed and arranged in less than 20 minutes with ableton live. Starting with a blank screen, I use NO loops or any prepared stuff.
After 20 minutes I render the song and start uploading it :)
It's not quality, it's quantity that counts :)

I do this tracks to learn to focus on the esential and to be more efficient in the rare sparse timespace I can call my own (beneath being highschool teacher, father, husband....).

For the Older songs (#1 to #10) I gave myself 20 minutes for composing and arrangement and then 10 minutes for mixing and mastering. But with the newer ones I wanna be more strict; Everything must be done within about 20 minutes. Afterwards I can do 3 things before rendering (like adjust the volume of a track, delete empty space at the beginning or the end, fade out...but no more changing the arrangement). The additional steps have to be declared.
There's no screencast for #1 to #11. But from now on that's an integral part of the game.

- it's complete in 20 minutes (tolerance less than 10%)
- there's no editing in the video
- you're allowed to do 3 additional steps after finishing (adjust volume of a track an so on), but this has to be declared
- you use no preproduced stuff like drumloops, acapella vocals, synthlines and so on.
- if you are a professional musician (you can make your living out of music!), please declare (like: "Hello, I'm Jean Michel Jarre, I'm a professional musician and I like to contribute this track to your 20 minutes from scratch project.")




German Version.
Diese Songs sind alle in 20 Minuten von A bis Z entstanden. Es werden keinerlei Loops oder andere vorproduzierte Elemente verwendet. Nach 20 Minuten wird gerendert und in mp3 konvertiert. Fertig :)

Die früheren Songs von #1 bis #10 komponierte und arrangierte ich in 20 Minuten, doch ich gab mir noch 10 zusätzliche Minuten für Mixing und Mastering.
Für die früheren Songs gibt es keine Screencasts (wie das geht habe ich erst jetzt begriffen...), doch von nun an ist dies ein integraler Bestandteil des Spieles! Ohne screencast kein gültiger Song :)

Nun auferlege ich mir noch striktere Regeln: Alles komponieren und arrangieren, Mixing und Mastering muss in 20 Minuten erledigt werden. Ich gebe mir dazu noch je 3 Joker: z.Bsp. einen Fehler beseitigen, Leere am Anfang löschen, Fade out am Ende o.ä. Doch diese zusätzlichen Veränderungen müssen im Video deklariert werden.

Die Regeln:
- Du beginnst von Null (leeres Fenster, keine Instrumente, Parts, Clips usw. eingesetzt)
- Du beendest in 20 Minuten (Toleranz weniger als 10%)
- Das Video ist völlig roh, d.h. keine Bearbeitung
- Du kannst nach den 20 Minuten noch 3 kleinere Korrekturen vornehmen, doch diese müssen komplett deklariert werden
- Du darfst keinerlei vorproduzierte Ware verwenden (wie z.Bsp. Drumloops, Acapella Vocals, Synthlines usw.)
- Wenn du ein professioneller Musiker bist, musst du das deklarieren, z.Bsp. so: "Hallo ich bin der Ralf Hütter von Kraftwerk und möchte einen Beitrag zu 20mins from scratch machen."
